Paying Our Dues: Support the Troops

Dedication. Being a team player. Paying your dues.

These are all lessons that hockey players are very familiar with. The things that coaches instill in us since day one. The things that are naturally taught by being a part of a team. These lessons are not meant to only apply on the ice, these are lessons that can touch every aspect of your life.

At Pro Stock Hockey, we try to live by these standards. That is why we are supporters of the U.S. Armed Forces. These heroic men and women are true team players. They are the ones who keep us safe and often receive little thanks for their commitment and dedication.

One organization that Pro Stock Hockey supports is the USA Warriors Ice Hockey Program. This is a charitable and educational organization meant to benefit wounded veterans. They also benefit others with physical disabilities through their ties with the USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Program. You can check them out on their website by clicking here.

We recently were introduced to another source of support for our soldiers. Sticks For Troops collects donations of hockey related equipment to send to Afghanistan so that our military members can have a little fun in their down time. You can find them on Facebook or on Twitter @SticksForTroops.

We hope that by showing a few ways that we pay our dues, everyone sees that they have the ability to give back to the team players that are many times taken for granted.

By raising awareness of these opportunities, we hope that you also find ways to have the backs of the groups that deserve your support in return.

Thanks to Sticks For Troops, we had the opportunity to send a dozen sticks and a few other things over to the troops in Afghanistan. Playing a little hockey is such a great way for our soldiers to relieve some stress and just have some fun!
